Isn't a rocket mobile by default?:angelsad2:

awesome!!!

awesome!!!

Holy sh#$%!!!!
that would have been totally awesome if not so destructive!!!

AWESOME, does it let you transcode files?

Yes it does... it's a slower transcode than with the card inside a Mac Pro tower. Playback directly from the RR card is at 4k realtime. Playback through the laptop utilizing REDCine-X Build 261 is realtime at 1/4 res and starts buffering around 34 seconds at 1/2 res setting.

OK great I'll buy it.

1/2 res RT playback on a core i7 2.66GHz MacBook Pro with the Mobile Rocket kit. this is so sweet to have this capability on a laptop.

Does Premier Pro support Red Rocket?

Dusty

Yes as of version 5.0.2 with support for the new color science, MX sensor and multiple RED Rocket cards. All the effects I tested were RT playback on the timeline.

What is the approximate transcode time (Ratio of Red footage in minutes / Time to transcoded material in minutes) of the Maxx Digital / Red Rocket box when going to DNxHD or ProRes?

1 minute of footage / 4 minutes to transcode?

I know it will depend on the laptop used and RAID being written to. Assume a Caldigit VR (or similar) at Raid 0

ProRes 4444 is about a 4 to 1 transcode time to a 7200RPM laptop drive and 2 to 1 to a G-RAID 2TB RAID 0.

Thanks Andrae.

That is really good to know.

Owe you a mojito next time I am in south Florida.

Great... I'm always down for a free drink. Our studio is located in downtown Fort Lauderdale... give us a visit if you're ever in the area.
