  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

i know theres the zacutto zwing away.. but that looks way to expensive for what it is.. plus its set up for lightweight 15mm and honestly i just dont have that much space to spare between bellows to lens (my 50mm zeiss zf barely reaches as is)

does anyone know something else that might work well?
 
I wish I had an answer you'd like, but I don't know of any studio swingaway mattebox by any of the major manufacturers that is less expensive. I'm not into the Red Rock or the Cavision options myself.

not looking for a mattebox... just the adapter to make mine swing away... zacutto is lightweight 15mm i just cant have that many adapters because my lens will no longer reach the bellows...
 
So combination 15-19 adapter / swingaway unit? Sorry, I don't know of anything. Certainly feasible, but I don't know how many we or anyone else would ever sell and it would be a good bit of engineering, so it would therefore likely be a rather expensive item.
 
It's probably cheaper to build your own than to buy one. A friend of mine has a Cavision mattebox for use with his Brevis adapter. Switching 35mm lenses with the mattbox attached is a pain in the ass, but so is taking the thing off to change a lens.
 
no 15 to 15...

i have a mmb1.. i want to use it with my arri 15mm red package..
(which i have an adapter for now.. 15 lightweight (whats on the mmb1) to 15mm studio (what is on my red)

zacutto has the zwing away.. which is 15 lightweight mini rods to 15 lightweight ..

Im just wondering if they or someone else makes a swing away bracket for 15mm lightweight (for the mmb attachment) to 15mm studio
 
Same with a 15-15. It could be made, but I don't know anyone who has.
