Mixing Raven and MX

Ok so with Raven coming out in February and with myself still on a Scarlet-MX I was wondering rather than going through the hassle of selling and considering Scarlet value is dropping like a rock - if anyone can point me to videos which intercut both Dragon footage and MX footage. At this point I would rather hold on the the Scarlet and add the Raven to the mix. Always good to have a backup.

So please post anything you have shot using both sensors together on the same project please. Thanks

In the same position here. Regretfully I probably lost out on a few thousand dollars by buying a used Scarlet just 4 weeks ago BUT I still plan to make some awesome stuff with it! Anyway, I may very well pick up a Raven at the end of next year, and I too would love to know how well the footage can match. I've heard that using something like Film Convert can go a long way to matching the cameras because their picture adjustments are all designed for the same end result...

I cut epic MX and epic Dragon and as long as you are not pushing the MX harder than you should no one can tell. They both look great. They cut fine.

Another thing to consider, is Scarlet MX at 4K is larger sensor than Raven at 4K.

Awesome. If I get Raven or whatever the 'new' scarlet will be in the new body, our old Scarlet MX will be it's B cam for sure.

You're smart hold onto the Scarlet. The larger sensor makes a lot of sense in commercial and film work. Cutting between closeups from the Dragon sensor and the Scarlet MX will require a minute or two in color, but it can be done once you control for latitude and will help you get the most out of your investment. The Raven sensor looks to be not too far off from a micro 4/3, so you may want to get a hold of a GH2-4 or AF100 to see how the field of view difference to the MX strikes you.

There is a difference in sharpness from what I have I've experienced. I no longer have to add sharpness with dragon. So you may need to add sharpness to MX footage to have it match.

Thanks guys. Thinking of Scarlet for the closeups. Since it would be slighly shallower dof and I guess Dragon for scenes which require increased dynamic range. Guess I can always make it work.

Edit: actually dragon is supposed to have better skin tones so I will have to rethink that. Maybe Scarlet for my wide shots.
