My first NAB was notihng short of a wonderfully memorable experience.

As many of you know, I did not go to see equipment, but to meet a number of you. While I failed to meet everyone I wanted, I did meet a lot of you, and it was nothing short of fantastic.

I have new friends!! I'm not going to name names here, because I would forget someone and that would make me feel horrible.

The party was difficult for me, Steve was wonderful for holding it, but the room was loud and it was extremely difficult to hear. Some people that were determined to speak with me knew I was having a hard time and pushed their voices so hard I could see the veins in their necks! :)

All during NAB, People would come up, tap me on the shoulder, and say "Hey I wanted to say "Hi!". And we would speak as if we knew each other for years.

RED is a wonderful thing, but no less wonderful are the passionate people who use it. This network has become an important part of my life and work.

It was nothing short of an honor to meet all of you, and I pray it won't be the last time.

Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Jay

I didn't get to meet you but its nice to hear you had a good time. Red rock on ;)

Hey Jay! Yes, it was way cool to meet you and put a face to the name. It was good to talk over RED technology, gawk wide-eyed at the new product line, smile approvingly through the "Made with RED" and Soderbergh pieces, see old friends, make new friends, chat with RED Team, and share many laughs!

The RED family is huge now - and growing every day. That is so incredibly cool. At NAB the RED family just got even larger...

Hey Jay -

Not surprised to run in to you first thing Monday morning on the way to the RED booth. Seeing the footage and the RED booth and fellow REDs was the only way to start off the show.

Checked out your demo reel this evening. Great work on the Val-Pak commercials and Queen Down under Features in particular. Excellent color, reminds me a bit of CSI Miami.

P.S.: Perhaps make the word "Demo Reel" clickable once someone drills down so they can get back to the initial menu list without using the back button. Right now, if you click on commercials, watch those, then click back button, it takes you back to home page where you have to click demo reel again.

Sorry I missed it Jay...
I'm just a workin' man this week. It would have been great to meet you and all the other Redusers...
Some other time perhaps...
Cheers,
Harry

Hey, Jay. Yes it was great to get to tie a face to your name. I enjoyed the visit and Gina says "Hello" as well. I think your friend Michael should join the forum. I think both he and the forum would benefit.

hey Jay

I just came in after a long red eye back. Departed at midnight this morning Pacific time.

Great to meet you and all the other characters. I have a couple questions for you about your Red Reel shots. Very nice. I'll pm you.

On second thought others might be interested.

Got my e-mail last week and I am hoping I can hold out until the new 7" lcd is available. Someone told me you used a small hand held, off the shelf lcd as a temp fix for that shoot. True? Did it work?

I know Jared has recomended a 150 model but a bit larger.

Hey, Ken. Not to hijack Jay's thread, but it was great to see you again. You are a great guy to talk with.

Thanks Larry...it was great seeing you again as well. It seems we come from a similar background and the conversation flowed very freely. BTW, my camera arrived today. I've been having fun rigging it up. I have a job in St. Louis all next week (not with the Red) and am bummed to have to leave it without really getting some good play time in! Yours is arriving this week also if I recall correctly. Say hi to the better half!!

Jay,

It was great to finally meet you! Thanks for lunch!

I will let you know when I'm coming through St. Louis, and you know you always have a place to stay in Utah! That offer is especially valid during Sundance. :-)
