Hello guys.
I'm selling a nice Leica Elmarit-R 35mm f2.8 in wonderful condition and adapted to serve mainly filming purposes.
- Version III (the latest and best of this lens) E55 3-Cam model
- 33xxxxx serial (1984)
- Top optical condition, no dents, no fungus, no haze, no separation, little dust.
- Body is in very nice condition with very minimal dents here and there and a little paint loss on the focus ring. The Leica Red dot is missing from the body.
- Focusing is absolutely smooth, even and the right "weight"
- No oil or rust on iris blades
- In-body Hood retracts perfectly
The lens has been changed in the following way:
- Permanent conversion to high quality Nikon mount.
- Very tight and nice Nikon to Canon adapter included. The lens can essentially be used in either mount.
- The iris ring goes a lit further than f2.8. This is typical in this Nikon mount conversions.
- Currently the iris is clicked, as I liked to use the lens for photography too. But I can have it decklicked and dampened for no extra cost to you.
- The lens has a high quality follow focus gear attached from followfocugears. It can be detached and attached as you like.
- I'm including a 55-77 hood/step up along with a 77mm cap and a Canon EF back cap.
I will also include the original 55mm Leica cap of this lens not pictured - with the original cap and the removal of the gear, the lens is perfectly great for photography use.
I have confirmed with David at Leitax, that a Leitax EF mount can be installed on top of this conversion if required. Leitax also sells a cheap solution so the iris ring doesn't turn beyond its normal scale.
This is a great choice if you are making a set with the "gimbal" Leica-Rs or you are just looking to get a quick taste before investing deeper into the system.
I thought to start a Leica-R set for filming, but I will not be able to get any other Leica-Rs any time soon, so I have no use of this by its own.
