  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MINI XLR on the Weapon

Current guess is that they will be available via one or more modules; not on the body itself.
 
Jarred has confirmed yes. There should be different side modules with varying connections - one should have mini XLRs.
 
Would be nice to have a 4 input mini xml option module that is compact! sort of the A-BOX but 4 inputs bypassing the stereo built-in mice when you need 4 clean inputs....
 
I hope the modules are ready to go and will ship in a reasonable timeframe.
 
The only thing about a full sized XLR is the size and form factor.

Honestly, if sound devices released a digital mix pre with everything as mini XLR connectors I'd snap it up in a second. The full sized xlrs are giant compare to the smaller ones. I'd love to see a move toward smaller form factor with XLRs. they are pretty heaver and bulky as well.
 
I don't believed in big sized audio modules...Technology is way beyond and passed that, you now have small units with 6 XLR and super high quality audio 24 / 96 hz no reason to go big when u can have a size of a A-Box times 2 for a 4-por XLR Module.

Indie films many times require scenes shot on lavaliere due to budget. with 4 inputs you can have 4 lavalliere or 3 labs with 1 boom mic in high quality coming straight to the camera, saving lots of times syncing in post. This is all about saving time and movie in the indie film world....
