Mini-RED Mount on Scarlet S35?

Okay ... call me crazy ... but I would like the option of putting a Mini-RED Mount on Scarlet S35 - and window the sensor to 2/3".

I'm thinking 3D and I am willing to bet I'll have a tough time in parallax with PL lenses.

I bet Red will have a sweet price point on the mini primes - so ... it would be VERY cool to have the ability to take the S35 down to 2/3" for 3D - and B-camera situations with those cute little lenses!! - but be able to roll 35mm PL in 5K for typical b-camera stuff.

I don't see any reason this would not work... They all have the same "body" and use the same mount system. With the exception of the fixed lens model. I was assuming right from the start that this can be done.

The mini primes look very interesting. I'd love to see a mini zoom too. Scarlet could be a total ENG powerhouse with a couple good lens options.

I'd think you'll find that to be the Epic S35 :w00t:

As for Scarlet I think it'll be possible C-cameras and/or crash cams

Well weather you use the Epic or Scarlet as a B cam would depend on your budget. Scarlet would make a fine B-cam or even a A-cam for low budget situations.

The scarlet s35 is a killer cam still. Even if the Epic is a better slaughterhouse. (especially to kill the budget)

Just depends on your financial prospective. - I wish I had the money to spend on a Epic also......... But I don't.

Just give some of us that don't have a maga-wallet a break.

To me, the S35 Scarlet is the killer A-cam! 5K resolution, PL mount and some Arri Master Primes... What more could anyone want?

And for faster frame rates, rent the Epic brain!

That said, it would be awesome to use the mini-primes on the cropped S35 Scarlet. 3D is about to become veeeeerrryyy interesting. :w00t:
