I have been using this set-up for a while but its a little too big for my usual camera set-up.

Details:

Can balance up to about 70lbs of camera, This head is very similar to the sachtler video 20/25 heads and features similar functions ("click-in" variable fluid drag settings- including a zero setting, built in balancing plate, and a quick tilt lock pin on the side for camera mounting) This tripod could be ready to use as a great B-camera tripod or if you fixed some of the little issues with it, it would make a great primary fluid head (read issues below).

Includes:

Miller 80 Head
Homemade tripod plate (the OEM version has been lost)
Brand new oconnor 1030 pan handle
150mm Miller sticks (similar style to Ronford Medium Dutys)
Miller Maxi spreader

The good:

-Great smooth 150mm head, no leaks I can see, holds a lot of camera for not much money, sticks and spreader are great

The not so good:

-The tilt drag setting doesnt seem to be catching (possibly stuck on a medium setting?)

-Missing one tripod lock arm (just lost it on my last shoot- easy to replace though- you just need the plastic part or make your own)

-Home made plate works, but its not a bad idea to get an OEM plate or have one machined

As I said, I have been using this set-up for a while and its ready to work, I would just suggest having it tuned up by a fluid head technician and you will have a perfect head.

Because of these listed issues, I am only asking $1250 for it. Great deal for a working set-up in this weight range and the sticks and spreader along are worth quite a bit.

(ipod shown for size reference as my Red is out working today)

PM me your offers. Thanks!

i don't know much about this stuff, so I'd have to stay away, but if I knew how to fix the issues, it sounds like a rocking deal to me! Good luck!

Thanks Brandon- Really the only minimal thing that needs to be done is replace the missing lock down on one of the legs (you can either use a wrench, get the real OEM part, or weld a handle to it)- and you have a great B-cam tripod set.

The other things mentioned are recommendations if you wanted the head back to 100%- its already many times smoother than any bogen/manfrotto so if someone was just looking for an affordable but high quality set-up for their Red, this one is great for that as is.

Here is a picture of the missing plastic handle for the leg lock down- as you can see the pin and everything is still there- all you need to do is get a new plastic handle. (or just use a wrench)
