  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

microShoulderMount?

I wanna say that someone on here said they tried it out and it doesn't really work well with the RED. It's supposed to be design for under 11lb cameras. Also, it looks like the shoulder pad rides on the rails, so to put it on the RED you would have to either put it behind the camera on long rods (making the camera VERY front heavy) or in front--getting in the way of the lens and accessories.

To be honest, if you are doing enough handheld work to need the mantis, then you should be able to afford it. It hurts to buy it, but it only hurts once!:)

However the Allstar is not a bad solution.. I thought perhaps we could use the handles from this rig, but sadly, Brian says "no joy" to that.

So we need a vendor to come up with some adjustable handles that grab 19mm rods for about $200.00

Anyone?

There's a knockoff of Moosebars on eBay from a manufacturer in India. Buyer beware.

Some of those Indian products aren't bad. I got Indian-eBay whip and crank for my Arriflex FF, they work great, fit properly and look nice...and I paid 20% of what Arri-brand would have cost.

Somebody posted it here last week.
