Hey everyone, here's the follow up trailer to my film Sleepwalkers, which I linked here a while back:

https://vimeo.com/105005663

We used many, many cams on this production. Mostly Red Scarlet. Some scenes were shot entirely with the Blackmagic 2.5K + BMCC edition Speedbooster. The Pocket was used for b-roll & second unit shots (and some smaller scenes). I also used the 5D Mark III with Magic Lantern for some scenes, 60p, and b-roll.

During 2nd unit, I tested the BMPC 4K, but it was unacceptable to use at the time. I loved the 2.5K and Pocket, so I'm interested to give it another try now that the FPN has been addressed to some extent.

Scarlet was the clear winner, but the footage still cut seamlessly. I sold my Scarlet right before NAB, as it was very hard to justify the additional money invested into that package. I was considering Scarlet Dragon for the next one, but I don't know at this point...I've shot some pretty gorgeous footage with Blackmagic, the GH4 and A7S. It's definitely a strange period to invest heavily in a high end camera package.

I'll post a version with camera breakdown some time next week.

PS: Massive thanks goes to all of the fine folks on Reduser who helped me with tips, troubleshooting, workflow, etc. during my time with the Scarlet. If anyone has any questions, ask away, I'd love to return the favor.

So far so good :)

How far are you from release?

didn't you post this about a year ago?

I remember being impress by the stills of the monster. Was that all CGI?

Thanks Eric, about 1 month away from completing the edit, and hopefully we'll premiere at a film festival shortly after that. I'm about to send out a new version to distributors, so as long as we can sell in the next couple of weeks, we should see a VOD release in late 2014 or early 2015.

Hi Jeffrey...I posted the old trailer right after we wrapped production. There's no CG SPFX or gore at all...all practical, all messy, just how I like it!

Hey Ryan, was the GoPro Hero 3+ on a DJI Phantom? Set at 2.7k? Narrowest FOV? I know it's daylight, but I'm actually surprised by how good it looks on those jeep shots in the old camera-breakdown trailer.

Very impressive! Would like to see the final product. Please keep us informed

Thanks Olivier, will do! A NFS article covering post & 2nd unit should be released soon.

Hey Mike, It was the 3-Black (non + version), set at 2.7K, widest FOV (I used optics compensation in After Effects). Tom Hirschmann, the pilot used the ProTuneRaw picture profile as far as I know.
