  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I just upgraded to the Epic and am bummed to see that my little button mic guy isn't registering. Perhaps my settings are wrong somehow? I searched through the settings that came default and they seem to be fine, I can see the levels up there and they peak when I mess with the jack but it won't pick up any audio normally. Maybe there's another option I'm missing?

This is my button mic that worked before with the Scarlet: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000MYPPPE/ref=oh_details_o05_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Can anyone help with this?

If it worked with the Scarlet, there's absolutely no reason it shouldn't work with Epic. Same build?

It's the exact same microphone... I literally took it off my scarlet, sent that one in, got my epic, plugged it in, and no bueno. I even used it on a rental scarlet Sunday...

+1 on Terry´s answer, check your settings:
Settings_Audio/Video_Audio Control: CH1 and CH2_Gain in: Do they have a sufficiant level?
Settings_Audio/Video_Audio Channels: Ch1/2 CAM ANALOG Mode UNBALANCED (with this type plug don´t use phantom power)
HTH, congrats to your EPIC!

Cheers, Ulf

Aha, thank you so much, Ulf! The settings were on "balanced" instead of unbalanced.

And also thanks on the congrats, I'm super excited. Got my first shoot tomorrow on the beach in Mexico, woooooo

(and before I get bombarded with all the "read the manual!" reproaches, please believe that I did go through the audio section but a lot of the manual's cryptic jargon generally isn't as easily interpretable / decipherable for everyone)
