Guys I have been using an Audio Technia for most of my boom work.. It's a medium boom with a fairl narrow cone, don't remember the model # right now.
The problem is that lately I've been doing a lot of boom work for talking heads or studio type work, and the boom is held fairly clost to talent. (Less than 5 feet, sometimes 1 or 2.
The problem is the mic itself is clipping due to being too close to talent. So we move it back but then the sound is not what I want.
I need a boom mic with a little more tolerance, one that does not clip as much but still has a little direction to it.
Any brands and model numbers you can send my way?
Thanks
Jay
