  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MG1 Anton Bauer Battery plate

Is Anton Bauer batteries more available than V-mount batteries. V-mount batteries as I can tell are cheaper. I read that most large productions use mainly Anton Bauer, is that true? Can someone chiming in about this?
 
The broadcast industry and many rental houses use primarily Anton Bauer. They feel that the mechanism that holds the battery to the battery plate is more secure and that V-mount batteries can sometimes "pop off" the mount. The RED world uses primarily V-mount batteries, mostly because that's what RED themselves sell. I personally switched over to using Anton Bauer at the request of many of my clients, even though I have never had a problem with V-mounts. Either will work fine, it's really a matter of personal preference.
