Michael,

Am I to understand that I could conceivably use Cineform's new R3D2CF tool to convert to Cineform and then use Metafuze to import into the Avid to DNxHD with metadata?

Has anyone here tried this workflow?

I must have missed this in the White paper.

Does this work? And as a PC only solution?

Chris

We are in the process of testing this out now. MetaFuze has an SDK to allow other formats to work within it. MetaFuze is currently a PC only product.

It would be great to be able to render Red Files to Cineform Express files, then import into Avid w/ full Metadata. Cineform Express files seem to be the fastest route right now.

Would the express file be able to be transcoded into a 1080 or 720 DNxHD file?

How many processors can you render to at once with Metafuze. 8?

This is actually an exciting option. Now if audio was included in the Cineform convertor, we'd be set.

MetaFuze uses 8 processors and jobs can be sent to multiple CPU's via line command and XML.
