  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MetaFuze v2.1 now available

I have a problem with the batch processing.
When I select all the transcodes Strg+Shift+A and change the parameters to f.e. ISO 200 it changes just the parameters of the first R3D file and not all files I selected like in Metafuze 2.0 ??

Are you doing the change in the details pane or the clip pane?

Michael

I'm not on my pc right now but I know I click at the transcode of the clip and the properties change and Im able to select the dnxhd codec...

One you have selected all trascodes, any change to one of them in the details pane applied to all the clip in the batch. The pane will turn blue for that parameter indicating it will apply to all of them. Works here on my system that way.

Hi Michael,

Doesn't work anymore for me either. Only Project and Destination Folder "take", all other settings don't "take" on any clips, other than the clip displayed in the viewers. MF 2.1.0 Win Vista Biz 64bit SP1.

*edit* did some more testing. Hitting the numerical enter works on some entries (Burnin, Project, Destination folder). Cannot change Format conversion on all clips at once, nor resolution, debayer, OLPF etc.

Looking into it.

Got the RLX trick to work in the details pane for all my transcodes.

Now, I just noticed that 2.1 defaults as DnxHd 175 whereas, I was previously transcoding to 36. Changing to 36 in the details pane does not affect all transcodes, though.

How do I set Metafuze 2.1 to transcode my batch to DnxHd 36?

Just read the earlier postings here. There seems to be an issue with some settings not "taking".

Also, for me, it defaults to 1080/24p/10-bit and DNxHD175x. If I flip to 1080/24p, it defaults to DNxHD36.

Cool! Got the 1080 24p/DNxHD 36 trick to work, however, it doesn't change the entire batch at one time like it adds the 1 RLX to all transcodes at one time.

Am I missing a step? How do I change an entire batch to compress to DNxHD 36?

Good news, this issue of certain settings not "taking" on all selected clips has been resolved in MetaFuze 2.1.1, now available from the DS Support Center.

*edit*
Posted this a bit earlier than allowed.
Note: Avid are currently testing the download in the Download Center and the www.avid.com/metafuze page but they wont be live until early next week. They need to ensure the integrity of the downloads there. Once live on these sites, I will let you know.

Quick question . Does Metafuze know how to process the new RedGamma Redcolor settings ? Or are they still RedcineX only ?

Would I have any advantage (in terms of image quality and information) If i process my clips with these 2 settings in Redcine then export them as TIFFs or DPXs and then use Metafuze to convert them intro Avid's codec ?

The SDK for FLUT, etc. is not out and part of MetaFuze at this time. It does support the color science that was part of the build 20.

Michael

I don't understand where do I have the option of setting the gamma and color space in metafuze ? :nopity:

I can't get in any way the same settings for all shots?

Yes, you can.

After selecting or entering the data for a setting, click the Enter key on the numerical keypad of your keyboard. That will make the the setting "take" for all selected clips.
Make sure you have got yourself MetaFuze 2.1.1, since this feature was (partially) broken in 2.1.0.
