  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MetaFuze Status (v1.3....)

We are running about a week late (crossing fingers) to the release. The new color science shouldn't affect us too much that I can think of in MetaFuze - Some nice little tweaks being added to MetaFuze. Hang in there folks.

Great news :happyhappy:

Thanks for the update.

Uh... no. Almost though. Trying to get through several audio issues.

Hi Michael

Is it safe to assume MetaFuze will continue to be a PC native only app with this next release?

Yes, native PC application. We have run it on bootcamp, VMWare and now Vistsa 64.

Michael

We have no real idea yet as to what we will be able to do with RED ROCKET until we see the SDK and have a card in hand.

Michael

WinXP64 too?

btw... just to keep things straight... a birdy told me...

the metafuze 1.3 that shipped last week with avid ds 10.1.2 is NOT the same 1.3 that's been discussed here.

THAT 1.3 is now being called metafuze 2.0 and will have all of the extra crispy deliciousness that's been discussed here and elsewhere.

(not to give you a hard time michael... but avid folk have been saying 'it's coming in a couple of weeks' for the last several months!... i'm jus sayin...)

I thought anyone working with RED was used to dates and specifications changing! Isn't that what's written at the botton of the red.com main page? :001_tt2:

We have gotten several updates to the SDK over the past several weeks that addresses some of the needs we have regarding audio. While we can't speak publicly about the SDK, these updates have been needed to ensure a working solution. We also want to make sure we have documentation and supporting materials to get folks started right out of the gate with the added functinality. But it is close -

Michael

I know, it's a pain in the ass...

Michael

Hey Michael, hang in there and keep up the good work. We really appreciate all the fight Avid is showing on this. We're pulling for you guys.

We are targeting July 15th as the download release date... hang in there just a bit longer.

Hi Michael

Will the new MetaFuze be able to create ALE that can later be conformed (or at least somehow load) in RedCine?

Will we finally be able to use MetaFuze for dailies ???

MetaFuze v2 will carry the file name seen at the directory level in the Camroll column - this an be used to create EDL, etc that can be used in Monkey, and existing workflows. A far as REDCINE goes, it remans to be seen. First of all REDCINE is being replaced by REDCINE X - we won't know what that is til it ships, and how much work is being done for REDCINE becomes a question. I will look into an XLST that replaces the tape name with the camroll string to create an XML to look like one that works with cineXML, or third parties can look to the camroll column as well (which I think some do).

Weeeeeeeeeeoeoeoeoeo! it's the 15th! :willy_nilly: :coolgleamA: :thumbup1:
