Just to keep everyone in the loop... as you have read through several reads, the next version of MetaFuze will have lots of enhancements for R3D workflows compared to what is found in v1.2. We also want to make sure that some of the infrastructure is in place to take advantage of updates in newer versions of the SDK that will actually help us do a better job.

So that being said, I and the engineers have decided that we were better off delaying the release by a couple of weeks to ensure we can get it all in - so what was the hopeful date of mid May - is now beginning of June. I also want to make sure that the documentation is complete to describe MetaFuze in an R3D workflow.

If we were to release something now, it would not have audio and 10 bit codecs and I would rather be a bit more patient to get that plus all the other goodness (performance, batch) that is being done.

So good news, bad news, but in the end good news -

Hello
As I was saying a previous mail, would it be possible to make a video tutorial for newcomers in using the red camera files and the different softwares. For instance from my side I still have problems using filmscribe as well as EDL, I always get an error message and cannot complete the operation when using Cinexml or Rubermonkey. As I alway say, the operation depend upon the operator...so some very explicit video tutorial would be welcome for PC as for MAC...

Yes, videos are part of the marketing plan but are done in a different group within Avid.

Sweeeeeeeet! :sifone: The best part is that you actually do keep us updated. Even if it's delayed there's a good explanation and reason. i love when companies are open about stuffs like that and just don't silence it to death. Thanks Michael! Much appreciated! :hurray::happyhappy:

LOL, I meant biatch! ;)

Thanks - biatch as in batch.

Nothing but good news. You should call it version 2.0 ;)

That's why I added the ... to the end of v1.3. I was hinting that it is more than a .3 release. But thanks for supporting the idea!

Michael,

Are there any rumblings about creating a 4:4:4 version of DNxHD?

There are many discussions on lots of topics and certainly 4:4:4 is one of them. Cannot comment to future plans being a public company though as these types of "features" extend beyond the quarter boundary.

Julien -

The development is going as fast as it can go - we can spend days discussing it, but it is what it is. Between getting the right balance of features, the right version of the SDK to give us what we need, and the priority of resources being applied, it is moving along as best it can.

BTW - I was born near Casablanca.

ETA has been holding for mid June. No surprises yet to change that.
