Used MetaFuze to transcode R3D file (with RLX preset from RedAlert) to a Half Premium 1080 MXF file. Looks great on the Avid Media Composer but no audio. What did I do wrong?

They don't have audio in this release. Say that it is coming soon. New version will also allow 'batch' operations which it really needs.

i was told that it's a limit of the red SDK, so until a new vers of that comes out, avid can't do much.

but i believe you should be able to load the .mxf files into media composer with your audio files (you DID shoot double system... right?) and auto sync in MC.

i don't know if there's a work around for single system audio.

The current MetaFuze uses an older version of the SDK that did not yet have audio support. The next version of MetaFuze uses a newer version of the SDK and will have audio support in it.

Think it's based on the DS code base so most probably not. But it would for sure be sweet.

I run under VMWare without Bootcamp just fine. Depends on how you want to set it up.

it looks that then works 3 times longer ( at least on 8 core mac)

in my test - if used via vmware rendering time for certain shot were 9 minutes, but if used "natively" - as windows - 3 minutes.

anyone have similar times?

I haven't done head to head tests while working in virtual environment. I suspect when runnign both Mac OS and VMWare, the times would be longer as resources are shared.
