  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Meizler Module

WAIT. Where is the info on the stand alone wireless module? How is this not posted everywhere? How much is it?

Yes. The Meizler module provides a superset of wireless Rx and Tx functions.

The wireless module is smaller and transmits 1080p resolution video over wireless.

Details on price and availability for that at the matching receiver will be available soon.
 
Can you use the Meizler module with the +1 monitor adapter?

I really don't think so as J said it attaches straight to the camera and the shape would not work at all if a +1 was used.. but I would like to be wrong so lets hope there is some way??
 
How does this module fit with the quick release system? Am I right in thinking the addition to the bottom means that when you use the QRS and the 19mm rails bolted on that the distance will no longer be standard?
 
Thank you Dan for those pictures. The last picture shows the 2 remotes (from 3ality and Preston) and it is clearly the HU2 from Preston on display (the older generation) . My question is for Jarred: Will the Meizler be compatible with the latest offering from Preston (HU3 with G4 upgrade) ? I just upgraded all my Preston equipment to G4 and want to make sure it's all compatible.
 
Could be an optical delusion I'm experiencing, but from the photos Dan has in his article, it would appear that if you want to make use of the D Tap connector, you would lose two of the Lemo 12V outputs due to physical interference.

Or is there enough room to use all if you plug in the D Tap cable first?

That's up to Preston.. right now it works with the HU2 and the Element THC hand units.

Thanks for the answer. Unusual to have such new hardware compatible with discontinued items from other manufacturers. Glad to have raised a flag here and I will make sure Howard (Preston) and his crew knows about this issue so everyone can talk to each other. Hopefully they are already aware of that issue . Let's give that Meizler all the bells and whistles it deserves (lens mapping for one).
