  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Any idea when the module will become available?

I think all the wireless stuff will have some authorization process that can take some time, like the German FTZ etc.
I hope you are on track with that and that nobody requires you to make changes.

The idea of uncompressed HD SDI via wireless still blows my mind. I wonder if the DOP will have a heated head after a while.
When using my iPhone I get a red ear like after 10 minutes on phone...

One thought:
If you can do uncompressed HD, which is roughly 150 MByte/s - what about compressed RAW too, which can be less?
That would allow 4K screening then...

Just an idea!

Those are some pretty amazing features.

Question though, since the Redmote has worked so poorly, on so many cameras, for so long, what is different about this module, that is x1000 in complexity, that will be more reliable?

The module sounds amazing, but it seems like it'll be a case of trying to do many things somewhat badly, than a few very well.
 
Very impressive features. I adore hardware but I hate cables. Alway's feel like Nate on a big shoot. Don't know if i'm an idiot or cables are evil. I think both.

I see proxy recording makes H264 files. All in-camera right? I see DNx in the video but I could not find anything about further specs. Is it also able to do Proress (8bit/10bit/12bit 422/444) directly in your RED?? Can H264 be recorded in 4K?
 
it mentioned a 2nd monitor/evf port, which is great -
but since the original port on the bottom back of the camera looks blocked, where is the 1st port then?

maybe I just missed it, but it looks like there is still only one evf/monitor output, just a different place....

EDIT- I got confused - i meant the HD-sdi output.....

That is pretty damn impressive.
I can really see this bridging the gap between so many parts of the production
team and even into post. It's like a hub of sorts that's gets everyone on the same page.

Since the app seems to provide many on set tools beyond the features
of the module will it be sold separately?

is the Red sync to ipad only possible without the Meizler Module or will that be a standalone feature. I seem to remember Ted using an Alpha version with just an epic?

needs a module.. wont work with just the brain.

Hand Controllers.. Element Technica THC out of the box.. Preston to Follow and C-Motion after that.

Shipping likely is going to happen in November sometime now after the last round of additions... we keep adding stuff ( some we can't talk about yet ) and we finally just put a cap on it.
