  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Megan Nicole Music Video

Very impressive Chris, especially considering the limitations imposed by the venue. Great work!

Chris,
Maybe you should get in contact with her peeps and see if they need a RED Ace to shoot her a music video....It worked for Orianthi!

Haha...maybe I'll reach out to the director. hehe

Chris,
Great work all around......Loved your Movi work, really worked with the video......

Thanks Steve...the MoVI has definitely been keeping me pretty busy. It's a great tool!

Chris is a Jedi Master Level 11 Movi Operator :-)

Thanks so much Michael. I would probably never shoot at the rink again, just because everything was just such a PITA.

Can I ask something: As we can see and as you explained there are such long 1 take shots. How did you manage to keep the performer in focus all the time? Did you have a focus puller on the golf car with you aswell, and what mm lens did you use primarely? Would be very interesting to know! Really Hope you can read this and replay!

I think Chris answered this in his OP. He says he used the Cinqegears Wireless Follow Focus......

Yea, I had an AC who was walking with his own monitor behind me the entire time. He lost focus at a few points, but maintained it pretty well. If memory serves me correctly, I was at a 5.6-8.0 split, and on a 35mm lens. I like shooting more open than that, nory a 2.8-4.0 split generally, but there were just too many variables to consider so I stopped down.

nice operating!

Thanks Brett

Thanks Scot and yes, you're correct...Cinegears.

Ps! One more question if you dont mind. Was there any specific reason why you shot with the compression 8:1 if you could have chosen a lower nr. still?
Thanks!

I tend to always shoot at 8:1...to me, it gives the best bang for the buck so to speak unless of course I"m shooting green-screen, then it's 3:1. I could have dropped it down a bit, since we weren't going to be rolling for very long, I guess I just didn't really think about it since I had so many things to worry about that day.
