  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Meet Snappy @ ISO 800

Saaaaweeeeeeeeeet!

I think "ISO 800 is the new 320" is the understatement of the year.

That image is waaaay cleaner than a lot of 320 Red footage I've seen.

Did you guys use tungsten lighting or daylight balanced light?

Finally I'll be able to get amazing, noise free shots of my son playing with wooden trains on the floor in our apartment without forcing him to sit on a kino ;-)

R1-M-X 4.5k ISO 800

Click on the grab for 2k motion.. you need the ProRes LT codec.

The grab looks awesome, I'd really like to see a full resolution version if not motion, but I'm on a PC. Any chance for a non ProRes version for us on Widows machines?

Thanks!

B2Pro Daylight Silver reflector. Love that light.

I am shocked, shocked! Really amazing, no in camera looks applied? That black is smoove.

The barely discernible noise could be from LT codec which does have a visible 'blotchy' noise pattern.

looking great, man, looking great!!!!

That ISO 800 is like buttah!

Speaking of which, Snappy would go well with a little melted butter too. :) My apologies if he's actually someone's pet. He still looks yummy.

wow, I'm so impressed. The m-x is unbelievable. This will be huge when it comes to shooting documentaries and such when you often find yourself in situations with barely any light.

I want to get the 2/3" cinema and had been planning on using old 16mm zooms knowing that I would be sacrificing some image quality. It's images like these that are really making me wonder if I should just completely hold off with the whole thing until I can get the mini primes and then just get zooms later.

( I'm sure this wasn't shot with mini primes because it was on an R1. I just mean to point out that these images are amazing, and I want glass that can get me the most out of my sensor)

But seriously it's shots like these that just blow me away anytime I start comparing the new tech from RED to other cameras in my price range

edit: cannot stop watching this clip over and over
