  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MEET FELIX....

haha, yeah. i feel like that lion trying to get my scarlet.

i'm still watching this shot... listening to bbc radio 1.

Very impressive stuff!
I wish the still frame was in full resolution though.
Seems like all Scarlet stuff so far has been released in this smaller-than-SD jpeg format.

By the way, there has already been a motion Scarlet shot on this forum a while ago. The file name was "focus_8.mov".

Looking forward to more Scarlet motion footage and full-size stills.
Must admit though, that I've already made up my mind on Getting a Scarlet or two many months ago... ;)

Epic was Canon Mount with Canon 70-200mm 2.8IS shot at about 85mm at about a f4..

5K 2:1 @ REDCODE 12:1 with 3:2 frameguides.

1/192 shutter. (effectively 180 degree shutter at 96 )

ISO 1260 and then pushed a stop..

Shot 96fps on a 24fps timebase.

ok i really gotta go...

Great! Thanks Jarred.
Now... go eat, and have a great weekend.

I LITERALLY JUST BURST OUT LAUGHING AT HOW CLEAR THAT PICTURE IS...you know the "WOW" footage that you guys have been waiting to show us...yea I think you've done it.

When I fist played this, I thought... Ohh My God!

Wow! ISO 1260?! That's really clean for high speed footage!

By the way, did you mean ISO 1280?

Jaws on the ground, jaws on the ground. Actin' like a fool with my jaw on the ground. :yikes:

Seriously, unbelievable. Both the still and the motion. And such a perfect visual metaphor! I still can't believe that is essentially ISO 2500 foootage. It's so clean! Can't wait to see the Scarlet .R3D.

Was this shot with the Epic held sideways in portrait orientation, or cropped from a horizontal frame? I've been wondering when videos will start being made for the vertical format, like an iPhone screen.

This is probably a good time to ask. How different is the Scarlet sensor to the Epic sensor, size aside? Do they essentially "see" the same, or are the image sensors quite a bit different?

My understanding is they use the same super-advanced Mysterium-X Red technology, but the pixels on the Scarlet are smaller. This will likely have some impact on the image. As soon as Jarred uploads those .R3Ds, we'll have an idea how much.

Did Jarred say he was going to post R3Ds tonight...or do I just need to calm down? Pretty exciting either way.
