  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MEET FELIX....

Scarlet 8x image of Felix from 1st post links to felix96.mp4 video which is probably Epic 96fps footage? I was bit confused. So only Scarlet 8x footge is in Chicken.zip file right?

thats why it clearly says epic footage in the same post.

Maybe you misread the original post?

And before you say how cute he is.. watch the video Shot on Epic @96fps

I sometimes don't catch everything either...

Ok thanx Jarred and Joseph, it clear now, sometimes I'm still lost in translation. I just want to be sure what I'm watching :)

thats ok Petr.. it happens to me all the time :) All the graded clips you have been watching though and the RAW R3D that I have posted where from the Scarlet.

I like the sound of that, me...

Fx

hahaha. That made me laugh out loud.

I love this footage already. It's just a pleasure to work in RAW and everyone I've spoken to about how wonderful it is to grade RAW footage agrees. I love this camera, and hope I can afford one.

Cheers RED!

My only question now is....The Red One is a great camera but I feel a few things can still be improved upon before leaving it behind (What's the timeframe for totally not supporting the Red One?)

1.) Cheaper batteries and or longer lasting batteries.
2.) Available storage media (Not backordered) and if Red can't provide storage they should provide adapters to use external E-Sata Drive enclosures. (I.E. build your own from Western Digital or Hitachi Drives or SSDs)
3.) Software updates to potentially squeeze 5K? Or is this just to much for the processor?

I understand the importance of using Red Drives it's assurance that it will be fixed if something goes wrong. However for Indie shooters like me budgets aren't that high, and we are willing to take risks. For the most part if you follow some guidelines off the shelf drives are great, and I rarely if ever have an issue.

It worked with my 64bit version I downloaded before when EPIC footage was posted.

I'm only saying that on my Mac Pro the 64-bit version of the latest CineX gave me a red X (cross) over the Scarlet footage.

I also remember seeing another post about it, where the poster said he had luck with the 32-bit version.

And the 32-bit version worked for me right away too.

Might have something to do with it being pre-release and Epic-software.

Not really a problem working with this one clip. I'm counting on 64-bit working when it's released.

Just a heads up incase someone else had problems, not knowing the solution.

Yeah and a nightmare to put on. I spend two days in make-up. And I don't really like raw chicken. But what can one do as a method actor... :)

You could also be in your costume and operates your own Scarlet. I do this all time :

And believe me, it's harder to do fine controls when you're a reindeer...

Just under two feet is pretty sweet when you can zoom to the FF equivalent of 224 mm.

Yes indeed.. and that under 2 feet MOD is on the long end of the zoom... on wide you can actually focus much, much closer.. :)
