Guys,
Apologies if this is the wrong place to post this, but what software are people using for media management of r3ds? We normally edit in Premiere Pro Cc so whatever we choose needs to work with this, as well as Redcine and Resolve ideally.

Shotput Pro for backing up.
RedCine X for checking footage.
Resolve for grading/making transcodes.

Hi Nick,
Many thanks. Sorry I should perhaps have been clearer. My Media Management, I meant the management of media once on the system - i.e. data logging, searching etc. A lot of our footage is archive, so we may need (for example) to search for any clips shot of Tower Bridge in London. We are looking to see what off-the-shelf options there are for tagging or logging shots, that can then be searched, retrieved and crossed in to the edit package.

Im assuming we're not the only company with such needs, and would prefer not to have to start from scratch designing our own system ... again!

You need a proper media asset management solution then ideally...or halfass it with avid installation cuz you can have massive avid projects without issue as a poor mans MAM

Hi Brian,
Yes a decent MAM is what we're investigating and there are a couple of options, but id be interested to hear the opinions of anyone that's using any such Media Asset Management (MAM) or Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems with Red R3D files in day-to-day life...

Unless you need a full, larger scale multi-user solution, keep an eye on Key Flow Pro. it's a nifty tools but so far has not worked with R3Ds. However, I know they are working on an implementation which can accommodate RED media.

Thanks Terry. That's good to know. I'd found Keyflow Pro, but discounted it because of the lack of RED. I'll keep my eye open!

Haven't used a professional one, but I know abelcine sells them and it was out of budget for my gig at the time so we exported txt files of the bins instead with the column data we need out of avid and put them in excel

Hi Adrian,
Thanks, I'll take a look at Neofinder.

Brian, emailed the guys at Keyflow Pro with a few questions. Look like RED support is planned, but no idea on timescales. The email I received back said "Currently we’re working hard to add the killer features such as Annotation, Duplication Check, Batch Relink, and Edit Metadata at Remote. So we’re sorry we didn’t review the R3D SDK yet. But, as we have seen the R3D SDK for some time, it seems that it isn’t simple task, since there are some limitations so it may take some time, but we’ll try to find out the best way to support this feature. We’ll let you know the result later."
