I have taken his expression "more nuances you can have in between" as the measure of steps between min and max values, which satisfies the definition of DR IMO.

Why are you saying DR is not a range? DR is a Range, as the name suggests!

DR is a distance measured (as a ratio) using either log scales (stops) or linear scale expressed as %.

Distance is a quantity that has units (range has units), where DR is a unit-less quantity (because of being a ratio).

I am not sure if Graeme Nattress knows nothing about DR, but if liner scales (%) mean nothing to him, it could indicate that he may in fact know little about the matter.

% is marketing bullshit it's a convoluted number to express a meaningly value IMO. And you can call me a dipshit or whatever it is you feel you need to say for saying it.

It's like saying "our camera goes to 11".

I've got nothing against the sony, panasonic or any other camera that uses it. It's just stupid marking bajingo that you can effectively purge from your memory in order to make room for useful things.
