I know it probably sounds wacky, but the Colorist prefers Color, so can anyone tell me if they think my workflow holds water? (note* I haven't had hands on the footage, just got a call)

-The cut exists as offline MXF files in MC5 (originated in MC3) (don't know how they were generated)

-Export an AAF

-Use Automatic Duck to import into FCP

-Use Clipfinder to relink to R3Ds

-Send to Color

The whole thing working is contingent on the filenames being the same, and Automatic Duck importing the MXFs (as references)

Any bright minds out there?

I knew there was a workflow for this, it's just so hard sifting through all of the posts.

I wasn't sure a simple EDL would work, but I'll give it a try

Thanks so much!

Ricky,

This workflow does work as well. I tested this out a few months back. No problems as long as the names are all good.
