  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MC5 Crashing with Red Rocket

I have just installed a Red Rocket into a brand new 8-Core Mac Pro. It is in Slot 2 the 16x Slot. I have removed my Matrox MXO2 Mini Card.

I utilized the newest drivers and successfully updated the firmware to 1.1.8.6
In both RedCine-X Build 242 and Avid Media Composer 5.0.3.4 as soon as the rocket is accessed it causes a full system crash. Crashes to the Mac Grey Screen of Death. This happens when we try to Transcode in AVID or REDCINEX. In addition it happens even when trying to play out a clip in REDCINEX.

I am currently downloading Build 340. To try that.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
 
We'll let this thread get answered in the REDCINE X posting you did since it sounds like more of an issue with the card, the system and the OS than it does a Media Composer problem at this point.
