  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

May Update... The month of Raven

I'm sure there's a bunch of us waiting for a June update to drop. Especially SW and Weapon orders that were set aside for the Raven catch up month. I'd assume that the run up to the Panavision reveal was probably pretty crazy for Jarred and everyone else there, so maybe when thigs settle down a bit for them (do they ever?) they can bring us up to speed.
 
Just while we're all waiting... Does anyone know where the queue is date wise for the Scarlet-W or Weapon? I know there's a Raven Queue thread but is there one for the Scarlet or Weapon? Sorry if I missed this info somewhere... thanks!
 
I recently switched from Raven to Scarlet-W as I am sure a few others did as well so I am sure thats where they will pick up.
 
You had 6 months to decide about switching to Scarlet, and you think you will jump in front of everyone else who didn't switch. That would be so f#@ked up if that's truth.

Sorry to upset you but Raven to Scarlet-W switchers get priority as we preordered way before Dec 10th (when S-W was announced).

Believe me, I have been waiting much longer than you for a DSMC2.
 
I think the cut off was end of April, as Jarred said. And you haven't been waiting for Scarlet longer. You were waiting for something else. If I wanted a Raven I would have queue myself in that line. And it's not even like it's December 11 and you realize that's a better camera that fits you. It's been 6 months since. You definitely weren't waiting for scarlet W longer. You even said it "I recently switched from Raven to Scarlet-W "

Sorry I think you misread what I said above. I stated that I have been waiting for a DSMC2 camera longer, not a Scarlet-W specifically.

Also I put in a preorder and put down money before December preorders which gives me priority as RED follows timestamps.

I am not trying to argue with you about the situation, I am simply informing you how RED operates.
 
Then wait for your Raven DMC2. You switched 6 months late, queue up, like everywhere else in life. Do you cut lines when you go shopping because you were waiting in a DIFFERENT line longer? Nowhere else is this tolerated, why should it be here?

I no longer have a Raven order since I switched and my original September 30th timestamp was honored by RED.

I understand your frustration but RED religiously stands by timestamps, which is fair in my opinion.

Good news is that Scarlet-W were cranking out at a good pace before May.
 
Another good news, you won't definitely be next in line.
 
Everyone should stop getting hot headed about the situation. Everyone here has been waiting no matter when a deposit was put down. Honestly just get on with making films and enjoying life and your creations. Your allocation email will turn up when it turns up! No matter how much you moan they won't put you to the front of the queue! I'm sure not long ago in this thread red was going to start putting people to the back of the queue haha..don't be one of those people. I am sure that everyone at red hasn't even slept for the past 4 months..

Thanks for your wisdom Craig, no one is saying anything about red not working hard.

Just went over your posts. Found like 3-4 posts like this "Hey guys, there isn't any point in moaning and complaining to be honest because" So you just go around and patronize us?

No that isn't my aim. I honestly just think moaning isn't gonna solve your problems is it? Iv had a deposit since December 10 scarlet w like lots of other people, you just don't see me causing arguments between members about who's next in line. This forum is for people to help each other as a community with issues and advice. We can also talk to some of the main players in the red team. Like Jim, jarred. And Brent. It's not really for giving anyone a hard time in my opinion..
 
That's a little harsh David, personally I switched for multiple reasons, one being that there is more of a chance i'd get the camera in time for a project I'm working on this summer, secondly I didn't think I could afford the Scarlet at first and only recently felt I could afford to bump up to it.

I don't think it's fair to get annoyed at buyers, everyone is following the same policies and is free to switch if they please too. The policy hasn't been hidden by RED. Can we go back to being nice and helping one another?

And there you go. You switched because you didn't want to wait in your line and you knew by switching you skip over all the scarlet-w orders because you get rewarded to be a switcher. I get it.
 
I switched for multiple reasons as I stated David. I'm free to do as I see best for my business and for my finances. I haven't skipped anyone. RED stated for a long time that orders would be fulfilled by dsmc2 order time stamp. It's no secret.
