So I have had the Ronin for quite some time now and I have to say its an amazing tool. I have been meaning to write this post for a while. Though sometimes I want to throw it off the edge of a cliff because of the weight but it is what it is. As you all know the down side of this very affordable revolutionary tool is the weight and limit of weight or accessories you can put on it. The preston hard to fit on it. Batteries are a pain, the side handle gets in the way of balance. After the first day of shooting with it I think back in October I bought a third party "EZ Rig " rip off but the kind with the carbon fiber camping pole for a support. Broke it in two days with no accessories just the camera, lens and Ronin. Returned it got a new one broke it a again a couple weeks later. I am hard on my equipment in a way as I do whatever it takes to get a shot, run, skateboard shoot out of cars motorcycles etc... So I need a rig that will last shooting. Easy rig totally the way to go on foot... By far... Don't skimp on your back. I have been experimenting with a better way of shooting with my Ronin (for my back). Its really only limited to anywhere you can drive a car to get your shot but its honestly my favorite way, totally painless and quick to set up. Im sure Im nowhere near the first person to do anything like this with the Ronin but I thought I would post this to maybe get your juices flowing if you haven't tried it.So first the Standard shoot out of the back of the car method which Im sure we have all done countless times. It works great like this once you get used to the remote and a very quick setup. This is the setup is a little more unique which I really like and it gives you some pretty cool angles. Run a wireless or I guess wired monitor down to your passenger seat and try not to make yourself carsick. The Ronin will max out its gimbal power to the wind resistance at about 70mph. I didn't have any pictures with the gimbal strapped down on top of the car but it worked flawlessly. I had about 6 or 7 ratchet straps holding it down in the end. Im trying to get ahold of a photo strapped down now I will post once I get it. You can check out a couple videos of mine I have used these methods on at the bottom of this post. I would love to see some of your similar set ups too. Post in the thread! I guess what I meant by maxing out the Ronin is maxing out the motors against wind resistance. I understand there is a lot more you can do with it and I think it's always interesting to see what other people are doing. These are just some of my examples of some independent low budget stuff I literally did by myself with one other person driving. Ive been thinking about mounting some speed rail to my roof rack enabling a 180 degree view and it seems like that would put me at a good perspective height wise as well.

Yes!

Edit: I'm surprised people aren't commenting on the roof rack at least... the footage from it is great.
