Okay, so I got 8 gigs of RAM and switched it out my new MacPro.

I haven't seen much of a performance increase in RedCine, although FCP seems to run better with ProRes now.

Anyway, is there a way to maximize my Mac? Settings or something? Hate to sound like a newb, but like they say, "the only stupid question..."

Raid doesn´t help at all for REDCINE bottleneck is CPU.
I´d go Redline , didn´t test yet, but i think it´s faster than Redcine since no Preview has to be rendered.

For FCP it´s another story, RAM, RAID and more RAM

No. Leave your boot drive as is. Add 3 drives and RAID those at RAID 0. Or check out Infiniband Multilane connectors and an external box. I use High Point Raid card with Mini-SAS to an external case with Infiniband Multilane.
