Hi All;
With the high ISO ratings now possible, it is very desireable to match those with high shutter speeds to freeze action when doing slomo shots, as well as for a host of sports still photography and many other applications. Red has an opportunity to surpass all available still cameras for sports action freeze frames, as well as a host of applications that would greatly increase their market. I've seen 1/2000th metioned on the forums as the max. for RedOne. IMHO this is way too slow for serious sports stills or certain technical analysis applications. With high ISO ratings of say 12,800, in bright sunlight at say F/5.6 you would need a maximum shutter speed of 1/204,800th of a second. Since there are already high speed video cameras that can do 1/1,000,000th of a second, we know it's feasible. I know the cinematographers in the crowd will wonder why I'd want to shoot at such a high ISO, but it's not for movie making per se - think Myth Busters and needing to freeze motion of things moving very quickly to analyze them with 6K, 9K or 28K sensors one frame at a time. Whadayasay Jim?
