I had a RR mattebox along time ago, before i upgraded to an arri mb-19...

I was bored and just seeing what type of film gear was on amazon..

TELL me this isnt the EXACT same as a redrock mattebox?

Guessing the company who RR hired to make the matte box had their exclusivity time period run out and start making them under another brand name.. for half the price..

Yep, I believe it looks identical
Seems only the Screws were switched which is all I can see is different

i might just pick this up. heh hehe heh. seems like it's worth a shot

It's crap. Fondled one of these from an amateur videographer. Filter trays are very flimsy and the locking mechanism doesn't securely hold in tight. Not to mention it won't hold 5mm Schneider or Tiffen filters (I think the trays only hold 3mm max).

never said it was good..

just if anyone was planning on a RR mattebox for 800 bucks.. this looks to be the same thing for much less..

Wondering the story behind it
