Matte Box Woes

[CVB]

Soon.... Many projects, little time but I am working on it. I'll shoot for having a rendering up next week. Thanks for the pressure guys

Every time there is a new post in this thread I get all warm and fuzzy inside... maybe I'm a sick person, or just a geek. =)

Keep up the good work Curt.

The RED delay has bought you some time I would think. I was looking at a 5x6 Chroisziel but have since delayed the purchase, solely on the possibility of an in-house (OK OK RED-user) product. That may not seem like much but I have a feeling there are many more people like me.
Could mean bucks.

Hmmm, a rendering never went up! What's the status of these anyways? I'm slated to get mine August 30, which after a few days shipping is probably 1st week of September. Any chance of having a matte box ready to go by then?

[Michael Ragen]

He said possibly November in another thread.

[Priyesh P.]

on www.viewfactor.net are some scribbles of it...

(but you need to register to see em, I think)

Hi Curt

Do you have a rendering for us? Any idea on when the first batch may be ready?

[Alex Boothby]

In the View Factor forum it mentions images in a couple more weeks. Also I think $1200 - $1500.

Doh

Doh

The problem is I need one right away since I am getting my RedOne tomorrow. I will wait by my keyboard for the expressions of genuine sympathy that I feel certain are coming my way :matrix:

Seriously though, I am bummed that I won't be able to buy one of Curt's rigs as I really like the guy and his price point is much nicer than Chrosziel, Vocas and don't even talk to me about the Arri.

Anybody want to loan me a nice mattebox really cheap for a few months? I'll return it as soon as the ViewFactor rig ships...

[Shawn Nelson]

Just buy the $600 Cavision 4x5.65. You could easily flip it for $450 on DVXUser when you're done.'

I was in the same boat, I'm waiting for the ViewFactor matte, so I bought a used Chrosziel 4x5.65 2 stage fixed matte box for like $350 on eBay. Woohoo!

Yes boohoo to you and Shawn - jerks!

Now that sounds like a good deal. I must have been asleep when that auction took place or I would have jumped. Good score!
