Hey guys this is my first post in the forum and I was wandering if I could get feedback on one of my first commercials I shot with the Red One M Sensor. I was the CInematographer and Colorist (used Color)

good job man, pretty powerful... nice choice of music.

nothing wrong with your choices, but personally some of the glow/diffusion and saturation was a bit much, especially where the highlights were getting clipped.

I enjoyed it! As Paul said, the music was definitely a good choice, I liked the pacing and the reversed clips. Didn't think I would find a clip about marriage interesting being a 21 year old college student, but it definitely captures you.

I noticed a flicker in all of the "past" shots but not in the present shots. Is that purposely added to give a home movie feel or am I just seeing things?

Thanks for the quick replys
Michael - You are correct about the flicker, it was used for a dream like/home movie feel to it.

If that was the intent, I think you didn't take it far enough. The flicker felt to me like a compression artifact or something rather than a creative choice. I can see where it would be an interesting element, but I'd suggest thinking more about the dream or home movie you are trying to suggest and push the effect farther in that direction.

I also agree. If it made me question whether or not it was on purpose or accidental, then it didn't do it's job. It should be made clear so people know. Maybe just ramp it up a tad bit to show that it doesn't exist in the present day stuff at all.
