Hi Gang,

Anyone know Marie Adler and Associates?
A distributor?

I've gotten a few emails wanting to distribute and few of my projects
but I can't find any information about them or people with experience.

I did find an IMDB page with hundreds of producer credits so I'm wondering
if this is for real or just a way to amass IMDB credits?

Anyone know these people?

There are a lot of people getting into the distribution business because of the exploding overseas market for content, in Asia and Europe and streaming/VOD internationally. Based on what I've seen and heard about this particular entity, that seems to be the case. The "Adler" in question was in the lending business before jumping to film, so make of that what you will. Most of the stuff I've read about the business points to a "GRQ" approach (Get Rich Quick!) and they seem to be focused on getting as much with their name on it as possible and selling it in bulk to Amazon, Hulu, overseas networks, or whomever. They are going after everyone they can send an e-mail to, so don't think you're being singled out because they like your work.

Marie Adler and Associates seem to be spamming anyone with an IMDb listed production (or elsewhere) that they can contact via email.
Novices with only a short films listed on IMDb are getting these emails from Adler and Associates. I too have gotten several emails from Adler for different productions I work on.
They just seem to be working down a list of possible films that might be looking for distribution.

Piece of advice: get the money first, hand over your material second. But you already know that...:biggrin:
