  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Mapping playback to a user defined Button ?

FWIW - if you have the touchscreen, it's pretty darn easy and quick to play back as it is. :smiley:
 
One thing i like to do after watching a take is to press the record button. Then the camera switch to camera mode. Hit rec one more time to start recording.

That's cool Trent. How about some visual feedback on screen to indicate which auto focus mode the camera is in and/or a button assignment to call up the focus menu? Flipping through blindly is a bit of a drag... Or am I missing something?

The next major release will have a much improved preset and key mapping system which should allow you to customize the camera even more. You will be able to map a key to apply a preset which can contain any number of camera settings. This should allow you to map a key to just about anything you want (including, for example, a specific focus mode).

Scrolling through the different clips is also painful.

It would be great tho have a folder type of view in the playback mode. Horizontal scrolling to choose the shot to be playback... with thumbnails... ;-)

What's wrong with the list presented in the Playback Media menu? Other than not having thumbnails.

Will that include the ablity to assign iris +/- to the rocker button? I dearly miss having one touch iris control at my fingertips. If that ability came with a smooth transition to the setting change, as an "unclicked" lens mod it would be nice.

My rocker is so slow to respond that I didn't even notice it working that way at all. Boy do I feel stupid. I'm trying your method now, thanks!

I guess I just need to better learn how the Shortcuts menu items work, the rocker specifically. I used your method, but applied it to the front jog wheel. Now it has a more familiar feel and I can preserve the navigational functions of the rear wheel, directional pad and enter button cluster. I think this will work for me.

The responsiveness of the rocker will be fixed.

Will this work so you map a button to a preset and that button activates the preset, or will it be possible to map multiple presets to scroll through to a single button? I think the latter could be a useful option.

I'll post some how-to examples once the firmware with these features is released with some pretty cool use cases.
