  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Manure

Oh- I forgot about the giraffe- That was my camera it kicked, and I was holding it when the giraffe kicked. I think we used the C camera after that while B camera was in to red for repairs. The reason it kicked, BTW, is cuz there was a huge hole nearby which the giraffe didnt see and stumbled, so it kicked to maintain balance - at the expense of the camera! Good times.

I've always thought of the R1 as rather football-shaped. How far did she fly?

David, not sure if you are following this thread, but I want to say thank you for all the insights you always provide. I did have the chance to purchase Manure (The Smell of Success) on ITunes, I must say your cinematography, as always, is gorgeous. Those sunsets look fantastic! Thanks for your generosity.

Yes, thank you.

Yep, should be instant soon if not already. I got the DVD via Netflix a couple weeks back when it first came available. Quirky film, the jokes (mostly involving excrement) were tired, old and largely not very good, often forced. Mostly well executed though and I got a couple chuckles out of some of it. To me it felt as if they were unable to shoot the film they really wanted and kludged together the best feature they could with what they had. Cinematography was pretty darn good (David Mullen, I really like what you did here) -- it had that whole "shot on a stage" look and feel, but it held up well. Personally, I liked David Mullen's own looks applied to some of his stills more so than the final color grade applied to the film, which was a bit too monochromatic and brown for my tastes. All things considered, it was OK. I think it had the potential to be a lot more than it was. Given what has been said about events surrounding the film, I think it's probably amazing the film was released at all. I thought Tea Leoni was great in this.

i'm pretty much right with you, jeff. i'm glad i watched it and i loved the cinematography, it was just missing that special something in the story.
