I have a pretty much complete Mamiya 645 setup with all of the lenses they had to offer as of about 2009-ish... Always loved the optics and image quality, regardless of which back I had on my camera. I've never put the Mamiya glass on my RED cameras though. Maybe I should! Heh... Never been a fan of the build quality or mechanical aspects of their lenses, that's probably a big reason why.

Well, like many other non-cine lenses, the Mamiyas were never claiming to be built like tanks, however they translate fairly well into a cine-mod. Nice long focus throws on most of them, theyre manual iris and not too heavy. Some people boo and hiss at the f2.8 speed but it works for me. They can match fairly well throughout a set, if youre lucky and besides the fact that the widest non fisheye lens is 35mm theyre fun to shoot with. Jeff, throw them on and have a go for shits and giggles and a $100 adapter and if you like them, as I do then find a better mounting option later.
