I have a lot of good older mamiya primes that I currently use with my cannon 5D and the footage looks amazing. If I get the Nikon mount for red mx and go from nikon mount to mamiya mount and use the mamiya primes do you think that is going through to many mounts that it will cause image quality loss / need more light, or what would be a general opinion. I feel like with enough light it should be fine but I have no experience on red as of now.

Keep in mind mamiya 645 is a medium format camera, so consider the lens sizes.

mamiya to canon

mamiya to canon

what sort of adapter do you use for mamiya to canon. I have a bunch of old mamiya lenses also and tried to put them on an ex-3, but the magnification is too big, because of the chip size. But for the canon 5d it should work...?

i think it will also work for the RED...?

Can you tell me which adapter/ brand you use?

thnx

We used the lens from my Mamiya 680 and used this custom made adapter:-) It worked great. No seriously, it really did:-)

Hey Jarred, it's been said there will be a Mamiya mount for the upcoming EPIC-645 (or whatever it ends up being called). If so, would that mount have a drive motor to control AF on the 645 lenses? Just curious...
