My background is with Avid MC but I'm using Vegas right now (which I'm discovering has some features that blow MC out of the H20).

Red footage has somewhat of a plastic/electronic-ish look when compared to F35 footage.

Has anyone had much luck adding effects or grades in Vegas to Red material to make it look more "organic?"

Thanks very much.

Well, that's a very broad question. And indeed, "plastic" is very subjective, as is deeming RED footage plastic. So, is there anything specific you can point your finger on? The first thing you should look at are the R3D properties. In Project Media right-click the clip and "File Format Properties". It gives you an array of R3D specific controls. You could try the Film Effects plugin if you are looking to emulate film. There's really no end to manipulating your look, but you have to know what you are looking for!
