  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Making New r3d files

Looks like RED has changed their stance since their ?exclusivity agreement expired?...

Ah that one. But that will only truncate from frame 0 and forward. Anyway I got my proof of concept script to work and I checked that the new RED file works again in REDCINE.

It will be working by taking an input filename, output filename, start timecode and end timecode.

Just need to make it work with sequences (first 001, then 002 etc.) for both input and output. Then I'll post it somewhere :)

R3DCROP v1.0

R3DCROP v1.0

The Attached ZIP contains R3DCROP version 1.0 - a free command-line tool for cropping R3D files to specific in- and out-points.

I will repeat a portion of the readme file here:

This Windows-only command-line tool is provided WITHOUT SUPPORT, GUARANTEE OR WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. I have tested it during development to produce R3D files which are readable by REDCINE, but if you choose to implement R3DCROP in your workflow, you must be aware that future changes to the R3D file format will most likely render this tool useless. You are also advised never to delete your original R3D files.

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

With that said, if you find any bugs, I'll see what I can do...

Sincerely,
Steven Hilder
