I have a macro project coming up so have purchased some macro extension tubes and a Vivitar 2.5 1:1 macro lens - while awaiting the Pentax K-EOS adapter, I did some testing with the tube and shitty 50mm 1.8.
My initial observation is DAMN the depth of field becomes shallow, especially wide open. Even when using my EOS body to stop the lens down it was still freakin' shallow at f4 and 5.6. Most of this was shot wide open I think. I do kinda like the dreamy vignette style blur around the eye in parts. Anyway, this test isn't that cool, but a pretty clear image of an eye using a 50mm and some $7 extension tubes. I used the 1 tube for the initial shot, the 3 tube for the second shot, and the 1,2 and 3 tubes combines for the EEECU of the eye.
Will post my macro project when it is done - or at least when the lens adapter arrives.
