Woot! got my first diopter (for use with my 7d and AIS)
Its the same as the one linked below but I bought it used from adorama
– not achromatic or anything. May have to get the real deal once my scarlet arrives though.
I have to shoot a fashion viral tomorrow - maybe i can add a 'diopterized' ECU to the storyboards and hope no one notices

Of all the single element diopters I've heard of, Nikons' MAY be tops. Many years ago the now defunct MODERN PHOTOGRAPHY did a resolution test with one of these used on a 50mm Nikkor (either the f1.4 or f1.2, do not remember which). The result was superb sharpness. Somehow the optical formulas of prime lens and supplementary meshed perfectly.
NOTE this 52mm size is probably too small a diameter for the fixed Scarlet and would likely vignette at least at the wider focal lengths. But a 52mm +10 (like the 4-element Opteka) MIGHT NOT vignette even at the wide end of the zoom due to its greater magnification. TESTING IMPERATIVE, THOUGH!
