MacBook Pro alternative?

[ericyoung]

Thank's for all your answers.

you have convinced me, i will take a MacBook Pro Retina. Now the problem is Apple... They will release the new Retina Haswell in october with Maverick OS, i think, and i need a portable station for my project, in 1 week maximum.
So i'm frustrated to buy the actual macbook but i don't think that i have an other way.

Maybe you can rent, or buy secondhand?

Buy refurbished from the Apple store. I was forced to buy a retina recently knowing that the new one was coming soon. This way I can resell with minimum loss to devaluation and to be fair, the retina I received, I would never be able to tell the difference between it and a new one.

Hi Malik, If you could see how win 7 Clevo goes with Redcine X and Premiere, I am not sure you go Apple. I am not computer reseller, but I use Clevo for my second year with Red and I am so happy that I would not go back to Apple. I live in France near Paris too if you wnat to see.

Hi Olivier,

The Clevo alternative is very interesting, i will check the P570WM too, "the most powerful gaming notebook and mobile workstation based on Intel® X79 chipset and Intel® Core™ i7 server class processor."

Thank's you,

Hi,

the refurbished pricing is not very interessant in France (only 300 euros difference between the new and the refurbished retina).

Some other options to look into as well, I will be doing the same soon. I'd read about them since eurocom/sager has been around for a long time and currently design laptop chassis for many companies.
