Macbook Pro 2011 not reading RED station

My RED station is being read on other devices except my 2011 Macbook Pro. How do I go about diagnosing and fixing this?

My macbook pro reads other other harddrives that are hooked to its firewire port.

Well, the Red station Firewire port is known to be a failure point (not unique to Red devices though), but if it is being read on other devices via Firewire I don't know.

I've had this problem sometimes, usually i just swap firewire 800 cords
