Hello All,

I seem to always be stuck in the annoying circle of what and when to upgrade. So Im back with another question.

Does anyone have any experiece with the latest top end spec 15' Macbook Pro Retina and firstly dealing with offloading Dragon / Alexa files and then transcoding both.
I know it is not really advised but I currently use my 13' Retina just for very simple data wrangling jobs and have been on the fence and jumping up to the 15' for that increase in horse power?
Does anyone think it would be worth while selling my 13' and dropping some cash on the new 15'?

Is there possibly another laptop I should be looking at instead ? Like this -

The other option would be focusing on upgrades for my Desktop but gear it more for on set use - I have been on the fence about this for ages from looking at Titan X's to re-building, I always seem to be on the fence but I have some more money avaliable now.

So I could either upgrade my current system -
4930K
64GB Ram
780ti
Watercooled
240 + 120gb SSD
2TB HDD

With a Titan and Larger SSD storage and HDD space.

Or I could get an totally new system and sell this current one and a few other parts to fund a new one for something like -

5960x
Titan X
64GB RAM
1TB SSD +240gb for a hackintosh maybe?
4TB HDD

I know my current machine may not sell for much but with £2,000+ and Sellin this above machine I might be able to get a decent upgrade and keep thr 13in just for data wrangling.

I'm using the MBP 15" Retina Mid-2015 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, AMD Radeon R9 M370X 2048 MB, 1TB SSD. Editing 6K Red Dragon footage is fine at 1/4 with quite a lot of fan noise. I always feel editing almost any footage on a desktop/workstation is much better choice if you have one.

Anything with at least x4 cores and a discreet GPU will be a vast improvement to any 13" MBPR, which is duel core and integrated GPU only.
