  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MAC TECH LED - Anyone use these?

Nobody? developed by NBC Universal... super smart guys but their website is.. well like from DOS world 1994... super hard to navigate and find anything.

I'm currently the Key Grip on a feature titled, "Woven." We did a car rig last night with the Alexa. We rigged a 2' kino bulb inside the car for a interior car light gag and the two kino housings outside the car have MAC Tech LED bulbs in them which come in daylight and tungsten variety, are fully dimmable, and have either 2x or 4x the output of a standard kino tube (can't remember). All the lights were wired to the bed of the truck so the gaffer could watch the monitor and work the dimmers for street light effects!

I thought these MAC Tech bulbs were really awesome! We didn't do significant tests before hand, but we've been using them for the duration of the feature and they've been working great. I've actually thought about investing in two daylight tubes just to have for projects I'm shooting. They have so much output and it's awesome to have the option to throw them on a dimmer.
