There's no 5k or 6k footage with the Raven. "Only" 4K. Which is good for hardware. :-)
The best computer from Apple seems 5K iMac.
Is here anyone who has experince with editing 4k Dragon footage on a 5k iMac?
Can the base model handle 4k editing in full resolution?

thanks

I have edited 4k and 5k MX footage on maxed out 5k iMac and it does quite a solid job.

Thank you. Sounds good. If maxed out 5k iMac can handle 5k footage in full resolution I guess 4k footage will not be a problem even for the base model :-)

You'll want to make sure the base model has a decent graphics card as that is the key to being able to edit the footage in real time.

A somewhat related question for any Apple-watcher/techie types... is it likely that the next iterations of the iMac may come with a beefed up graphics card? I haven't a clue as to what is coming in the next generation that might be appropriate but, since I am looking closely at the 5K iMac as my next FCPX editing machine, I am wondering.

Thanks.

380 and 390x are up next for iMacs, references to it are buried in the code of os x 10.11. the current high end iMac's m295x is a respectable card as it is.

4K is really easy to work with anyway, doesn't take a supercomputer to cut it or grade it
