  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I'm really not that worried about it. We're are working the MX like a mule and it's doing a fine job. I look forward to Epic, but we couldn't be more satisfied at the present time.

Maybe Jim and Denan are still trapped at Weta and need an extraction or most likely on a beach in Fiji.
 
Did anyone else catch Jim's post this morning? Looks like its been deleted or I was trippin and it was actually an old post(however the thread no longer exists). It didn't say much, just that he is back from hiatus and that the new zoom lens was looking good.
 
Yeah.

I saw that, got excited for a moment and then realized it was a post from early 2008.

I was confused as to how it got bumped, because it was a closed thread.
 
Anyone heard from Graeme Nattress in awhile? maybe he got lost in his code.

Red is about to Reset and bomb/bombard the camera world once again
It is going to be an incredible thing to witness
and it is going to build and build in the coming years
It is obvious that they are just digging in and holding that line
I cant believe people believe this company will be rivaled
other great cameras will be built
but these guys just wont stop
Red will bring it time and time again

Whatever happens, Scarlet has to come out before March 2011.

I have a bunch of projects lined up for next year that would really benefit from it.

I wouldn't shoot a feature on a DSLR in a million years.
 
Personally I think that any more delays after this RED is gonna start to lose a lot of customers on the lower end.

By then the next generation of DSLRs will be out, Panasonic's AF-100 will be out, not to mention a few other offerings from Sony and the rumored large sensor interchangeable camcorder from Canon.

If it slips into the second half of 2011 I'm gonna buy something else and only board the RED train once the S35 is out.

Judging from the enthusiasm in Jim's posts recently I thought that things were really picking up, but every time there's a silence like this it feels like something went wrong again.
 
Jim has gone his longest between posts for atleast the last three months. I think we are either about to get VERY exciting news or VERY disappointing news. Highest high or lowest low...

Agreed. Praying that there isn't another "bug" delay.

I have a new facility that *has* to be stocked with gear in the beginning of 2011. And as much as I'd want to wait as long as I need to, if there's another delay I'll be forced into looking elsewhere which would make me very dissappointed.

During the Q&A several weeks back, Jim said "no problem" to my deadline ... praying this is still the case!
 
You were talking about Scarlet or EPIC?

I'm sure that there's a healthy chance of seeing EPIC out early next year, earlier perhaps.

I worry about Scarlet.
